Taking a class in urban street dance – It is one of the fastest growing and ever changing contemporary dance forms. Classes should be fun and exciting so it is key for students to stay relaxed to achieve their best. It is less focused on technique than other dance forms, and therefore, students can let their unique dancing skills shine through. For students new to dance, this is one of the more relaxed styles that could be chosen.

It is important to really listen to the music and work with the dynamics of the songs and mixes that we work to.

It is also to remember that it is also about having fun.

Street dance has such a diverse following which is mostly due to its versatility, drawing people in from all backgrounds and age groups. It first began appearing in the USA in the 1970's, evolving into the hip hop movement and has attracted other styles to develop into an urban social dance.

The ULA classes will focus on the street jazz style but it will also embrace other street forms such as breaking, krumping, popping etc. The ULA will continue to grow the hybrid style elements into dance time at the studio.
